Chemtrols’ First Surface Treatment Application Laboratory in Vietnam Officially Launches
Strategic investment enhances local technical capabilities to meet evolving demands of customers across Southeast Asia
Chemtrols, the global surface treatment business unit of BASF’s Coatings division, has officially inaugurated its first local application laboratory located in Tây Ninh Province (formerly Long An Province), southern Vietnam, in close proximity to Ho Chi Minh City. The new laboratory provides professional product testing and comprehensive technical support for surface treatment solutions serving multiple market segments, including automotive, automotive components, general industry and plastic recycling.

Equipped with comprehensive functional capabilities, the new Vietnam laboratory can conduct liquid sample analysis, panel and workpiece testing, as well as application trials for surface treatment technologies. It significantly streamlines testing and performance validation procedures, ensuring that all surface treatment processes for various materials meet customers’ stringent technical specifications and deliver stable and optimal performance in practical applications.

The launch of the new Vietnam laboratory further optimizes Chemtrols’ regional layout in the Asia-Pacific. With this new facility, Chemtrols now operates a total of eight application laboratories across the Asia-Pacific region. The remaining laboratories are located in Australia, China, India, Singapore and Thailand, forming a robust technical service network covering the entire Asia-Pacific market.
