Four things that usually come from four different companies

Most factories buy the adhesive from one supplier, the dispensing equipment from another, the engineering advice from a third, and hope the shipping takes care of itself. We are built to be all four — which is the only reason the four answers agree with each other.

Why these belong together. The answer to a bonding problem is almost never just a material. Four stages, each one answering something the last could not

Assembtek did not start as an engineering company. It started on factory floors, supplying what those floors used every day. Everything since has been added because customers kept asking for the next piece.

ST_01 — Supply

We supplied what the factory floor used

We began as an industrial hardware and materials supplier, working through the daily consumption list of factories. It is an unglamorous starting point, and it is why everything after it holds up: we learned what real production conditions look like by standing in them.

ST_02 — Distribution

We represented the brands, and learned the brand was rarely the problem

We became an authorized distributor for Henkel, Loctite and 3M. Supplying the right product answered about half of what customers were asking. The other half was where it goes, how much, how quickly it sets, and what to do when a part comes back from the line looking wrong — and none of that is a distribution question.

ST_03 — Engineering

So we started answering the other half

Joint design, application method, curing conditions, early testing. This is where Assembtek stopped being somewhere you buy from and became somewhere you ask. Most of what now sits under our engineering services — including the failure-mode work and the material substitution work — was figured out on somebody's production line first.

ST_04 — Platform

Today we hold all of it together

Material, process, automation and delivery under one roof — including the customs and documentation work that industrial chemicals need, and the ability to consolidate several brands into one shipment.

In 2025 we also established a joint venture for industrial epoxy research, which puts us upstream of the formulation rather than only downstream of the invoice.

No stage replaced the one before it. We still supply, and we still spend time on production floors — which is the only reason the engineering advice is worth listening to.

One source, and the plants it has to reach

Hong Kong holds the company. Dongguan and Xiamen hold operations and technical work. Everything on the right of this diagram is somewhere our customers' second and third plants have gone — and a plant that cannot buy the approved material is a plant that starts improvising.

Hong Kong holds the company and the contracting entity. Dongguan and Xiamen hold operations and technical work — the order, the consolidation, and the records that travel with a shipment.

Where the volume went first

Consumer electronics and acoustics assembly moved here earliest and in the largest volume — usually with a design and a material list that were signed off somewhere else.

Four disciplines that work as one project team

Rather than operating as individual specialists, these functions work together on the same enquiry from the start. That is why the material advice, the equipment advice and the delivery plan arrive agreeing with each other instead of contradicting each other three weeks apart.
