Typically used as a gasket on in-place form rigid flange connections such as gearboxes and engines LOCTITE 518 is a thixotropic matrix that reduces the migration of liquid products after application. Loctite 518  provides robust cure performance. It works not only on active metals (e.g. mild steel) but also on passive substrates such as aluminum with low copper content. The product offers gap performance up to 0.25 mm (0.01 in.) and contamination tolerance.
